  • 2 onions, finely sliced

  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat. Sauté sliced onions until golden brown. Add garlic and ginger; cook until fragrant.
  2. Stir in pureed tomatoes and cook for about 5 minutes. Add spices and mix well.
  3. Add cubed beef to the pot and brown on all sides for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Mix in yogurt gently and cover; let simmer on low heat for 1.5 to 2 hours until beef is tender.
