Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 medium onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 6 chicken hamburger buns
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices American cheese
  • Sweet pickle relish
  • Mustard
  • Ketchup
  • White vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with diced onion and minced garlic until cooked through. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine torn hamburger buns with melted butter and sesame seeds.
  4. In a baking dish, layer half of the bun mixture on the bottom followed by half of the beef mixture and half of the cheddar cheese. Repeat layers.
  5. Prepare the special sauce by mixing mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, mustard, vinegar, sugar, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder in a bowl. Pour it over the casserole and top with American cheese.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for about 25 minutes; remove foil during the last 10 minutes to allow cheese to bubble.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving; garnish with lettuce and pickles.
